Edgar and Mavis are newlyweds. On their wedding night, Edgar discovers that Mavis -a nasty piece of work-is being unfaithful. Determined to run off with her lover, Mavis botches the attempt to poison Edgar (the family cat was not so lucky), so she resorts to using a gun. Chaos and complications reign when it transpires that the shots were blanks and that Edgar’s body has vanished!
