Auditions set for Dead Man’s Cell Phone Nov. 27-28
Redlands Footlighters will hold open auditions for Dead Man’s Cell Phone, by Sarah Ruhl, on November 27 & 28 at 7:00 p.m. The theater is located at 1810 Barton Road in Redlands. Performances run February 3-25, 2018.
Directed by Jeff Richards, the audition will consist of cold readings from the play. No appointments are necessary and head shots/resumes are helpful, but not required. Please bring all conflicts to auditions. There is no pay.
People interested in working backstage or behind-the-scenes are encouraged to come to auditions.
About the Show:
An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead man—with a lot of loose ends. So begins this fascinating new work about how we memorialize the dead—and how that remembering changes us. It is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.
Cast requires 2 men and 4 women:
- Jean female age 39
- Gordon male late 30’s to late 40’s
- Mrs Gottlieb. Gordon’s mother 60+
- Hermia Gordon’s widow 40’s
- Dwight Gordon’s brother late 30’s -to mid 40’s
- The other women /stranger 40ish
