- BILLIE DAWN -- LEAD ROLE. A STAR MAKER FOR JUDY HOLIDAY ON STAGE AND OSCAR WINNER FOR FILM. SHE IS BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND BREATHTAKINGLY SIMPLE. LATE 20'S -30'S. BLONDE, BUXOM, IN GREAT SHAPE. THE ABSOLUTE STEROTYPE OF THE DUMB BLONDE GANGSTER GIRLFRIEND. GREAT COMIC TIMING AND VULNERABILITY REQUIRED FOR THIS GREAT ROLE.
- HARRY BROCK -- EARLY 40'S --? LEAD ROLE. A LARGER THAN LIFE, LOUD, GROSS, HUGE MAN. GANGSTER TRYING TO BETTER HIMSELF INTO POLITICS. TONY SOPRANO TYPE. THREATENING AND HILARIOUS AT THE SAME TIME. ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTER PARTS IN THEATRE.
- EDDIE BROCK -- 30'S. SUPPT ROLE. HARRY'S GANGSTER HENCHMAN COUSIN. A PETER FALK TYPE. GREAT COMIC TIMING NEEDED. AIMS TO PLEASE HARRY AT ALL COSTS.
- PAUL VERRALL -- 30'S -? LEAD ROLE. HANDSOME, DAPER, GENTLEMAN WRITER COME TO INTERVIEW BROCK ABOUT HIS CONQUESTS. DRY WIT, INTELLIGENT. HE IS HIRED TO TUTOR BILLIE AND MAKE HER MORE ACCEPTABLE IN SOCIAL CIRCLES. THE MUTUAL ATTRACTION IS IMMEDIATE AND THE AFFAIR BEGINS.

General Information
Who can audition for a Footlighters play?
Anyone! All are welcome! Please ensure that you are available for the
performances dates - they are listed on the main page.
What do I need to prepare for my audition?
For comedies and dramas, you don't need to prepare anything.
For musicals, please prepare one song and bring your accompaniment on
cassette tape or CD. We will provide a CD or tape player. Each play may
have special requirements, so check below for more specific information.
What do I do at the audition?
You will fill out an audition form, so that we can contact you after the
audition. You will be asked to read scenes for the characters that are
best suited to you. If you are auditioning for a musical, you will asked
to sing the song you prepared.
What if I have a question about the play or the rehearsal schedule
or something?
We are unable to respond personally to any requests for any information
about rehearsals, etc. If you have any questions, please come to the audition
and ask the director in person.
